چکیده

In the present study, some population characteristics of Rapa Sea snail (Rapana venosa) samples collected from coastal zone Eastern Black were investigated. For this purpose, whelk by snorkeling depths ∼7-13 m in Çamburnu Bay (Trabzon) year 2020. Morphometric measurements such as shell size (shell length and width) operculum (aperture well total body weight measured using a caliper with an accuracy 0,01 cm digital balance g, respectively. Metal levels [zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), cadmium (Cd) lead (Pb)] muscle hepatopancreas tissues gastropods inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES). It was observed that 48,76% sampled sea female 51,24% male. The mean length-shell width, aperture length-aperture determined 35,6-27,2 mm, 26,5-11,7 mm 14,6 relation showing relationship between calculated W=0,0034*SL2,63. least accumulation at level cadmium, when metals tissue examined. Genetically monomorphic invasive populations of the rapa whelk, Rapana venosa.

Rapana venosa is a predatory marine gastropod native to the coastal waters of China, Korea, and Japan. Since the 1940s, R. venosa has been transported around the globe and introduced populations now exist in the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, the Adriatic and Aegean seas, off the coasts of France and The Netherlands, in Chesapeake Bay, Virginia, USA, and in the Rio de la Plata between Urugua...

Understanding microRNA Regulation Involved in the Metamorphosis of the Veined Rapa Whelk (Rapana venosa)

The veined rapa whelk (Rapana venosa) is widely consumed in China. Nevertheless, it preys on oceanic bivalves, thereby reducing this resource worldwide. Its larval metamorphosis comprises a transition from pelagic to benthic form, which involves considerable physiological and structural changes and has vital roles in its natural populations and commercial breeding. Thus, understanding the endog...

Imposex effects on the veined rapa whelk (Rapana venosa) in Bohai Bay, China.

Environmentally relevant concentrations of organotin compounds (OTs) may trigger sex changes in marine invertebrates and pose a threat to the marine ecosystem. In this study, we investigated organotin levels and the biological responses of wild veined rapa whelk (Rapana venosa) from Lüjuhe district (LJH), Dashentang district (DST), and Nanpaihe district (NPH) in Bohai Bay, China. We found that ...

Comprehensive and Quantitative Proteomic Analysis of Metamorphosis-Related Proteins in the Veined Rapa Whelk, Rapana venosa

Larval metamorphosis of the veined rapa whelk (Rapana venosa) is a pelagic to benthic transition that involves considerable structural and physiological changes. Because metamorphosis plays a pivotal role in R. venosa commercial breeding and natural populations, the endogenous proteins that drive this transition attract considerable interest. This study is the first to perform a comprehensive a...

Selection of housekeeping genes as internal controls for quantitative RT-PCR analysis of the veined rapa whelk (Rapana venosa)

BACKGROUND The veined rapa whelk Rapana venosa is an important commercial shellfish in China and quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) has become the standard method to study gene expression in R. venosa. For accurate and reliable gene expression results, qRT-PCR assays require housekeeping genes as internal controls, which display highly uniform expression in different tissues or stages of deve...
